Juniors

The Club has a long tradition of encouraging and developing strong juniors players. Find out about the exciting events, competitions and fun activities available.

Great Ayton Tennis Club is a registered LTA venue. That means the governing body gives us support and advice as well as the chance to win tickets in the Wimbledon draw!

Coaching and Activities

Junior coaching is available to Junior Club Members only from Little Aces (6-9 years) to Smashers (10-16 years). We offer affordable junior and family membership schemes to suit your requirements.

We have a fantastic junior coach, Mark Barras. All coaching sessions will include skill development, court tactics and of course lots of fun!

Our very popular Junior Tennis Sessions start at the beginning of April, each year, run by our coach Mark Barras.  If you would like to register your interest then either call or text Mark on 07904 392755 or email mark.barras@ntlworld.com

Mark coaches on Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Click here for further details.

Fit Kidz

Fit Kidz is a very popular and fun introduction to tennis and on court activities. We are hoping that this event will make a comeback in 2020. Great fun for the little ones aged 4 – 7 years. A great way to meet new people and make new friends, children and adults alike!

You don’t need to be a member of the club for Fit Kidz, however, pre-booking is essential. More details to follow soon.

Tennis for Schools

At the end of each academic year, pupils from Marwood School in Great Ayton spend one week engaging in various sports activities required within the school curriculum.

Marwood do not have the luxury of their own tennis court onsite so they head over to our courts instead!

One of our resident coaches or very experienced Senior Member of the club is on court organising fun games and tennis based activities. Voluntary members of the club supervise the event to make sure health and safety and child protection is a priority. Light refreshments are provided by the club.

We also asked Marwood School to help us with ideas towards our new logo design!

If your school is interested in coming down to the club for similar activities, then please do Contact Us

Birthday Parties

For a small hiring fee you can have up to 16 friends to join in celebrating a birthday. Bring your own food and party bags and make the most of our facilities in a fantastic setting.

If the weather is good, turn the party into a picnic, bring rugs et c, as we have lovely areas within the club grounds to accommodate this.

Why not turn your event into a birthday party with a difference! For a small additional fee, hire one of our junior coaches for a couple of hours to add a little extra fun and entertainment to the party. Parents can sit back, relax and watch the fun and games.

Contact us for further details and to book your party!
