Great Ayton Tennis Club is always looking to encourage juniors and young families who might be looking for a club that can provide whatever standard of tennis they aspire to.
The Club has a long tradition of encouraging and developing strong junior players and have juniors entered into area leagues. Here you can find out more about the exciting events, competitions and fun activities available.
Club News for Juniors
A club session from 5 – 7 pm for Junior members is in the planning with the most suitable evening to be arranged. This is for anyone over 10 years old or those who can serve and score. We will keep you informed.
Coaching and Activities
Juniors have priority on all week nights (not weekends) from 4pm until 6pm. This is an opportunity for Juniors over 10 years of age to book a court and have a game with other over 10 year old Junior Members, unsupervised, or for under 10’s to have a knock-around with their Guardians.
We offer affordable junior and family membership schemes to suit your requirements.

After School Tennis for Tots
LTA Youth Start and LTA Youth Schools Schemes
These schemes are an initiative from the LTA which are fully up-and-running and provided by our Level 4 Senior Coach Jen. If interested please contact Jen for further information.
These run every day (morning and afternoon) during school holidays. We will update our website with further information in due-course. In the meantime you can contact Jen Barron or Mark Barras for more information.
Last year we had a Tots Under 5 tennis group. This was very successful, with up to 10 Tots in the session, who all enjoyed organised games to help with co-ordination and ball skills. Parents enjoyed the social side, by watching, supporting and enjoying sharing afternoon drinks with fruit and plenty of chat!
Mark coaches juniors on Wednesday nights between 4 and 7pm (hourly, by age or ability sessions) and Sundays, by appointment only. If you would like to register your interest then either call/text or email Mark.
Tennis for Schools
At the end of each academic year, pupils from Marwood School in Great Ayton spend one week engaging in various sports activities required within the school curriculum.
Marwood do not have the luxury of their own tennis court onsite so they head over to our courts instead!
One of our resident coaches or very experienced Senior Member of the club is on court organising fun games and tennis based activities. Voluntary members of the club supervise the event to make sure health and safety and child protection is a priority. Light refreshments are provided by the club.

For a small hiring fee you can have up to 16 friends to join in celebrating a birthday. Bring your own food and party bags and make the most of our facilities in a fantastic setting.
If the weather is good, turn the party into a picnic, bring rugs et c, as we have lovely areas within the club grounds to accommodate this.
Why not turn your event into a birthday party with a difference! For a small additional fee, hire one of our junior coaches for a couple of hours to add a little extra fun and entertainment to the party. Parents can sit back, relax and watch the fun and games.
