Great Ayton Tennis Club are always looking to encourage juniors and young families who might be looking for a club that can provide whatever standard of tennis they aspire to.
The Club has a long tradition of encouraging and developing strong junior players and have juniors entered into area leagues. Here you can find out more about the exciting events, competitions and fun activities available.
What better way for your kids to catch up on their tennis fitness following lockdown than to sign-up for junior coaching.
We are also looking in to offering programmes such as LTA Youth Start as soon as we can get it up and running – watch this space!
Great Ayton Tennis Club is a registered LTA venue. That means the governing body gives us support and advice as well as the chance to win tickets in the Wimbledon draw!
Coaching and Activities
Junior coaching is available to Junior Club Members on Tuesday afternoons with Jennifer Barron and Wednesday afternoons with Mark Barrass. We offer affordable junior and family membership schemes to suit your requirements.

Jennifer has lots of experience working with juniors and adults, and has been involved with disability tennis for 4 years leading many of their initiatives. She is passionate about coaching and encourages everyone who is interested in learning to play to take part!

Fit Kidz is a very popular and fun introduction to tennis and on court activities. We are hoping that this event will make a comeback soon. Great fun for the little ones aged 4 – 7 years. A great way to meet new people and make new friends, children and adults alike!
You don’t need to be a member of the club for Fit Kidz, however, pre-booking is essential. More details to follow soon.
Tennis for Schools
At the end of each academic year, pupils from Marwood School in Great Ayton spend one week engaging in various sports activities required within the school curriculum.
Marwood do not have the luxury of their own tennis court onsite so they head over to our courts instead!
One of our resident coaches or very experienced Senior Member of the club is on court organising fun games and tennis based activities. Voluntary members of the club supervise the event to make sure health and safety and child protection is a priority. Light refreshments are provided by the club.
We also asked Marwood School to help us with ideas towards our new logo design!
If your school is interested in coming down to the club for similar activities, then please do Contact Us

Why not turn your event into a birthday party with a difference! For a small additional fee, hire one of our junior coaches for a couple of hours to add a little extra fun and entertainment to the party. Parents can sit back, relax and watch the fun and games.
