This page is for you and your family and will introduce you to the exciting events and activities available at GATC.
The Club has a long tradition of encouraging Juniors. Please visit the Events section to see the Past Junior events and planned future events. There is a free open day for Juniors and their parents and friends on 30th March from 1 to 3 pm Family Open Day
Great Ayton Tennis Club is a registered LTA venue. That means the governing body gives us support and advice as well as the chance to win tickets in the Wimbledon draw!
Our very popular Junior Tennis Sessions start on 3rd April 2019 run by our coach Mark Barras. If you would like to register your interest then either call or text Mark on 07904 392755 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
We have over 60 Junior members and hope to increase that number when youngsters hear about the new plans for Juniors.
Junior Club Fees (2019):
Little Aces (3-9 years). £25
Smashers. (10-15 years). £30
Students (16-22 years in full time education). £40
Guardian (Adult supervising Junior under 10). £10
Family. (2 Adults and children under 18 living at the same address and Students). £230
The popular Guardian membership allows children under 10 to practice with the named Guardian whenever the courts are available.

Group Coaching with Mark on Wednesdays:
4pm – 5pm. Ages 6-8 years (Red Ball)
5pm – 6pm. Ages 9-10 years (Orange Ball)
6pm – 7pm. 11+ (Full Ball)
Group Coaching with Mark on Sundays 10am -11 am for more advanced Juniors who are ready for match play or seniors.
All coaching sessions will include skill development, court tactics and of course lots of fun!
All of our coaches will coach individuals and groups by prior arrangement. PLEASE NOTE: to have coaching at the Club, children must be members.
Why not hold your birthday party down at the club? Bring your own food and party bags and use our facilities for a small fee. If the weather is good, bring rugs and turn the party into a picnic.
For a small extra charge, hire one of our coaches for a couple of hours to bring some special entertainment to the party. Weather permitting, parents can sit back, relax and watch the fun and games.
Cleveland League Team Challenge Tournaments
Venues: Great Ayton, Guisborough, Hutton Rudby.
In 2017 The Cleveland League decided to organise tournaments for enthusiastic Junior players from local tennis clubs.
In 2018 Great Ayton, Guisborough, and Hutton Rudby tournaments. Great Ayton will continue to participate in the Team Challenge Tournaments and host future competition on our new courts.
Congratulations to Great Ayton’s winning team at the Guisbrough Tournament 2017.
Wendy Heald tournament
Junior competition for ages 18 and under.
This annual junior tournament is dedicated to the late Wendy Heald.
Wendy was a much loved member of the club who dedicated her time to encouraging all junior players to improve their tennis skills.
She organised coaching for them and fun tennis days.
Don Heald always attends the tournaments and presents the trophy to the winner.
