Cardio Tennis is a fun, sociable group fitness class set to music on a tennis court. A workout suitable for all ages and abilities.
Nic, our instructor, will have you hitting lots of tennis balls during your class and you’ll have a great cardio workout at the same time.
What is a typical class like?
Saturdays 09:15 am to 10:15 am.
- Warm up – stretching, skills and drills to get your body warm.
- Aerobic section – forehands, backhands, serves and volleys all mixed with a variety of fitness activities.
- Tennis section – fun tennis games with team mates.
- Cool down – time to recover and stretch.
What else do I need to know?
Bring along your own racket if you have one, if not don’t worry as you can borrow one from the Club. Wear comfortable gym kit and non-marking tennis shoes. You’ll be working up a sweat, so don’t forget to bring a water bottle too! Take the empty bottle home with you as we don’t have recycling collection.
Cardio Tennis is for anyone who wants to get fit and have a go at tennis. The class moves along quickly, so no one will be judging your skills, and it doesn’t matter whether the ball goes in or out. Do I need to be fit? – No! Cardio Tennis is for anyone who wants to have fun getting fit.
Do I have to be a member of the club?
No, we provide classes on a pay and play basis. But we hope you will get a taste for tennis and join and we have coaches if you want to learn more and increase your enjoyment and skills.
You can come to social times and play as a visitor paying a visitors fee of £5 for up to three times. If you then to decide to join, your visitors fees will be subtracted form the joining fee. If you are a first time senior and family member the first year is half price. We really want to encourage you and your whole family to play tennis!
