The Club expanded from three to five courts as a result of winning Sport England Lottery funding in 1996, mainly justified by our substantial contribution to Junior coaching at that time.
We resurfaced our match courts 1 to 3 with a state of art “Poraflex” surface that meet the changing needs of our village community with the 3rd agers playing longer, the young seniors wanting to play at the highest level they can achieve and the nurturing of the next generation of juniors.
We have an online court booking facility for visitors to the village to hire courts 4 and 5 during the day.
Announcement: Clubhouses are officially allowed to reopen, however, out Trustees have decided the following:
“The Clubhouse remains closed for any social gatherings, but is open for access to emergency First Aid and toilets only, strict guidelines to be followed at all times – notices will be displayed around the Clubhouse.”
The courts are supported by a fully equipped traditional Clubhouse with seating area inside and on the terrace, toilets, and facilities to make drinks and simple food. The Clubhouse is the place to hangout whilst socialising at the club or inbetween matches.
The Trustees of the Club have an exciting Development Plan to implement LTA recommendations for the future of tennis playing in the UK.
